to provide the means by which college student educators carry out the critical work of preparing students for leadership roles in society.

 

 

IFTP Mission Statement

 The International Foundation for the Tutoring Profession (IFTP) will work in a trusted partnership with the ATP and other academic support agencies to empower those with knowledge about tutoring and tutor training and tutoring programs to share their experiences in collaborative venues.  The essential activity of the IFTP is the interaction of tutors and students in educational experiences characterized by critical thinking and articulate expression with specific attention given to goals and values.

The IFTP  is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation.


IFTP Mission Objectives:

  • The IFTP will maintain a vital relationship as stewards with the Association for the Tutoring Profession (ATP) to help to ensure that the ATP will maintain the original mission of its founders.


  • The IFTP will maintain a copy of the (ATP) membership list and a current and accurate version of the ATP Constitution and By-laws.


  • The IFTP will provide tutors and other academic support persons with information and opportunities to develop skills needed for academic success and leadership.


  • The IFTP will promote tutoring techniques and policies that have been proven to be beneficial through research and the test of time.


  • The IFTP will support and advocate for tutors and tutoring programs which are respectful of the tutees’ privacy, academic needs, and personal integrity.


  • When possible, the IFTP will offer grants and scholarships to academic support personnel to attend conferences or conduct research.
